Doodling, scribbling and hiking

Hi there! Hope your Summer is as sweet as is has been here in Iceland.  We've celebrated the Summer Solstice so I guess the days are getting shorter again.  But no worries, we still have a little left of the long nights, lots of camping ahead!

I was honored to be featured on my friend Helga's blog the other day, the owner of the design studio Soupdesign.  She's a brilliant designer which I've been fortunate to work with and constantly hunt for reasons to work with again!  I love her writing and designing, so check it out!

A habit of mine is to keep a piece of paper and a well sharpened pencil on my right side all the time when I'm working on the computer.  I make notes on stuff I'm working on and findings on the internet.  And when the phone rings or when my computer is running slow (which has started to happen more and more, yikes) I doodle and draw something on that piece of paper without really thinking about it.  The result is a massive pile of paper and junk in my studio.

So as I'm sure you can tell, I'm not too organized, so when I was looking for this tiny piece of paper I had taken some notes on the other day, I found a lot of faces in that pile of paper that I didn't recognize.  I don't know where these people that appear on my paper come from, but obviously I'm a little obsessed with their profiles! So I figured I'd scan a few of those mindless sketches and share them with you!

Finally, I have to brag a little about the beautiful country I live in and the fact that I made it through the 9 hour hike over Fimmvörðuháls last weekend, woohoo!  What a blizz!

me and my fellow red jacket ladies, Sigga Lára and Hulda

What a great idea! Those faces are wonderful! My family is off to day to climb on of our mountains here in Colorado-for Independence Day here in the US!

Wow, what a fantastic group of characters. Just amazing. I think my favorite is the second girl with closed eyes and that curl at the bottom of her hair. And the last one with the wide open eyes. All wonderful. And those photos, holy cow (and congratulations)!
